Academic translation for your thesis

You think in Ukrainian, but the thesis has to be submitted in Polish or English. We translate academic texts with attention to your field’s terminology and to academic style. The translator works in the language your university uses.

Translating a thesis or academic text from Ukrainian into Polish

Academic translation is a different job from translating a letter or a website. Each field has settled terms in Polish and English, and a word-for-word rendering of a Ukrainian term often produces something a Polish reader understands but would never write. In a thesis, that shows up as unclear definitions and as comments on the language from your promotor.

Before translating, we agree a glossary of key terms with you. For a management thesis that might be a few dozen concepts; for law, it includes the names of institutions and legal acts, which must match their official Polish names rather than a translation of them. The glossary also helps before your defence, when you need to use the same terms aloud.

Translation can also work the other way. If key literature on your topic exists only in Polish or English and reading it slowly is holding you back, we can translate the relevant parts of the sources, so that you can work with them in your own language and cite the originals correctly.

The price depends on length, the language pair and how dense the terminology is. Send the whole text or a representative chapter and name your field, and we quote a price and timeline before you pay. Your university decides which language rules apply to the thesis, so check the guidelines if parts of it were first written in another language.

How we work

Step 1

Send the text

The file, the target language and your field. Based on these, we give you a price and timeline.

Step 2

We agree on terms

We fix translations of key concepts so they stay the same throughout the thesis.

Step 3

You get the translation

With a glossary and comments on debatable passages. If your guidelines require it, we mark quotations from sources as “own translation”.

Questions and answers

Can I have my thesis translated and then submit it?

Technically yes, but submission rules are set by your university. You submit the thesis as your own, so it is important that you understand every paragraph of the translation.

Do you use machine translation?

Translation is done by a person who knows the language and academic style. Tools may help with terminology, but every sentence is proofread.

Will I need proofreading afterwards?

For Polish, often yes: a separate proofread by a native speaker removes calques from Ukrainian. We will tell you whether it is needed based on the first sample.
