Plagiarism check with a report, before submission

It is better to see matches before submission than to hear about them from your supervisor (promotor). We check your thesis in the system your university requires and send you the report, explaining which matches are normal and which are worth working on.

How to check your thesis for plagiarism before JSA

Every thesis at a Polish university goes through JSA, the national anti-plagiarism system, before the defence; the check has been compulsory since 2019. In most cases students cannot run JSA themselves: the check is started through the university, usually after the promotor accepts the final version. That is why it is useful to see similar passages earlier, while you can still fix them without delaying the procedure.

A pre-submission plagiarism check shows the passages in your thesis that match other texts and the sources they match. On its own, a similarity figure says little. Correctly marked quotations, names of laws, standard definitions and bibliography entries all produce matches, and promotors treat them as normal. What deserves attention is a paraphrase that follows its source too closely, or a passage whose source has been lost from your notes.

Different systems compare texts against different databases, so their figures are not interchangeable. We always tell you which system was used, and the report should be read as a guide to what needs attention, not as a forecast of your JSA result.

The check costs 35 € at any deadline. If the report shows passages that need work, you can correct the citations yourself; the bibliography and editing services are there if you want help, but they are never required.

How we work

Step 1

Send the file

The final version of your thesis and the name of your university.

Step 2

We run the check

In the system your university requires or, if that is not available to us, the closest available one. We tell you which system was used.

Step 3

You get the report

The report and a short comment on what to do before submission. We send the report as a file, so you can show it to your promotor if asked.

Questions and answers

Do you guarantee a certain percentage?

No. We do not promise a percentage and do not help anyone get around the check. The report shows matches; the university makes the decision about the thesis.

What is JSA?

Jednolity System Antyplagiatowy (JSA) is Poland’s national plagiarism-checking system for theses. At most universities, the thesis is checked in it after you submit it to your promotor.

What should I do if there are many matches?

Check that all quotations are cited, and rephrase passages in your own words. We can help with citation formatting and editing; these are separate services.
