Theses and term papers

Introduction and conclusion for your thesis

Your supervisor (promotor) reads the introduction first, and the committee often reads the conclusion before the defence. The two parts must be linked: every objective in the introduction needs a finding in the conclusion. We prepare them separately or as a pair.

What a thesis introduction (wstęp) and conclusion (zakończenie) must contain

In Polish theses the wstęp and the zakończenie are short, usually a few pages each, but they carry the logic of the whole work. The introduction makes the promise: it states the aim (cel pracy), the objectives that break it down and the methods used. The conclusion keeps it: it reports what each objective led to and where the research had limits. A promotor who reads only these two parts can tell whether the thesis holds together.

The usual problem is a mismatch. The objectives were written months ago, the chapters went in a different direction, and the conclusion now summarises chapters instead of answering objectives. Before preparing either part, we put your objectives next to your chapter outline and check that each one has a chapter that answers it.

If the chapters are not written yet, the introduction can still be drafted from the outline and adjusted at the end; promotors often ask for an early version to see the direction of the thesis. The conclusion always comes last, once the results are known. Each part costs 95 €, includes one round of revisions and can be ordered without any other service.

A useful test before you submit: read the objectives in your introduction, then the first sentence of each paragraph in your conclusion. If you cannot pair them one to one, the reviewer will probably notice too.

What is included

  • Justification of the topic’s relevance
  • Aim and 4–6 objectives that match the chapter outline
  • Object and subject of research, clearly distinguished
  • Methods actually used in the thesis
  • Conclusion with a finding for each objective
  • One round of revisions based on your promotor’s comments

Who it is for

  • Your promotor returned the introduction because the aim and objectives were unclear
  • The chapters are done, but the conclusion will not come together
  • You need a starting point to show your promotor the direction
  • You want a small first step before full support

How we work

Step 1

We review the outline and topic

Without an outline, an introduction ends up generic. If you do not have one, we will draw it up for free.

Step 2

We define the aim and objectives

The objectives follow the logic of the chapters, so the thesis reads as one piece of research.

Step 3

We prepare the text

The introduction or conclusion arrives on Telegram on the agreed date.

Questions and answers

What’s the difference between object and subject?

The object is the broader area you study. The subject is the specific aspect of it that your thesis focuses on. Promotors often comment on this distinction.

Can I order a conclusion if you didn’t work on the chapters?

Yes, we just need all the chapters. We base the conclusion on what they actually contain, not on generic phrases.

How long is an introduction?

It depends on the guidelines. At most universities it is 2–4 pages, but your department’s requirements take priority.
